To mark the millenium Kidderminster Foreign Parish Council invited parishioners to record their knowledge and recollections of life in Trimpley and Habberley. Their contributions have been edited by Nigel Gilbert. They tell a remarkable story of the changes in a rural community over the past one hundred and fifty years.

Social bonds were strengthened in the nineteenth century with the building of church and school led by the Chellingworth family.

This community cohesion has been evident more recently in a series of land management projects to restore the wetlands of Trimpley.

Also featured in the book is Habberley Valley, with its history as a tourist attraction for visitors from the Black Country.

The changes in agriculture are reflected throughout. The book contains a superb set of photographs, illustrating old farming practices and working horses, and showing the lost farmhouses of Eymore and Huntsfield.
